A seamless connection to the outdoors

Our clients have the most stunning views from their garden and wanted to capture this in a luxurious new Extension which was to incorporate the current solid slate roof, combined with floor ceiling glass panels, to let the light flood in.

To provide a much desired sense of connection to the garden and the views beyond, we designed large bi-fold doors that would bring the outdoors in and vice versa. Wishing to extend their existing kitchen to form a large new living dining room, our clients wanted to create an open plan, inclusive space where they could live, cook, relax and entertain, while enjoying the stunning countryside views, all year round.

Completed in just 12 weeks, we extended the existing kitchen to form a large new living dining room with split level floors between the kitchen and living/dining area, as well as fitting stunning bi-fold doors to seamlessly connect this space to the garden.

This wrap around Extension links to a smaller M&M conservatory on the side elevation with glazed canopy. Roof tiles were specially sourced to match the existing structure and the external walls were harled, for that continuity of design. We designed glazed corners to catch the light from every angle, making this a unique feature and a large wood burning stove on the centre wall between the bi-fold doors was fitted to create a stunning focal point in the room.

The complex nature of the roof meant a steel structure was required to achieve the desired outcome of a solid roof with maximum light. The results are stunning and have transformed how our clients live.
