Embracing tradition while creating an environment that leads the way in exceeding modern expectations is something Gleneagles has perfected with ease and the new Strathearn restaurant with its bespoke Mozolowski and Murray Orangery is no exception. Inspired by Gleneagles founder, Donald Matheson, General Manager of the Caledonian Railway Company, the new Strathearn restaurant and its adjoining Orangery have been uniquely styled to celebrate the golden age of railway travel, with all its glamour and prestige effortlessly emanating the fine dining experience of the 1920s and 30s.
The hotel had previously enjoyed the benefits of a Conservatory leading from the Strathearn restaurant which was a popular choice for guests to enjoy breakfast and fine dining. However, having been in place for almost 30 years, Gleneagles felt it was time to replace the Conservatory, presenting an opportunity to build a structure more in-keeping with the architecture of this grand building, while offering guests an alternative light filled space that could take full advantage of the glorious views of the grounds and surrounding Perthshire scenery.
