After stumbling across an old article in Homes & Interiors Scotland magazine this weekend showing this stunning Mozolowski & Murray sun lounge extension, we thought we would have a look at features over the past few years in conservatory and sun room design.
The structure is incredibly modern looking displaying features ahead of the trend. We anticipate that more people will move towards sun lounges incorporating partial solid roofs due the versatility they offer.
There are many advantages to having a sun lounge – particularly on sites where extreme weather is common. For example, a conservatory or sun room with a fully glazed roof in a south facing aspect in the summer would almost certainly require blinds to afford some shading in the searing Scottish mid-day sun! But joyfully, in winter, your conservatory would only need the merest hint of rays to heat up.
A sun lounge strikes a balance between the two.
If a solid roof is what you are after but you do not want to compromise on any light then it is worth noting that we have incorporated stylish roof lights to combat that very problem, even complex structures, that will enhance and work alongside existing features in your home.
Take this as an example:
The upstairs window needed to be taken into account and so we built this structure that would not interfere with the existing design but that would ensure light could still come into the sun lounge and kitchen.
In this very different example you can see that the window upstairs was included in the design which stretches all the way up the building.
This is one of our more recent designs - a sun lounge extension to house a gym. I think you'll agree - it is stunning!
Who wouldn't want to work out in a gym like this? Stylish and motivating!
Whether its a conservatory, sun lounge, extension or orangery or something from our garden living range you need, we are confident you won't look back!
