"We added a sun room last year, which was a huge dilemma,’ she says. ‘The front of the cottage had been unaltered since at least the 1700s, and I thought “what right do we have to change something like this?” Possibly I was being over respectful of the past. We decided to splurge, but we don’t regret it when we’re sitting “outside” in the garden when it’s raining or snowing."
